As we reported in “Little Bit’s Release -Part 3,” Little Bit spent time in a cooled building near Park Headquarters, to await the time for her actual release into her wild home. Because the area where she was rescued in May is a much-visited part of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the officers waited until dusk, when visitors had left. These photos show her as she peeks out of the transport cage to sniff the new surroundings, and then as she jumps out and finally, as she runs off to her new home back in the wild. ABR and the national park are giving her a second chance at a wild life! Stay safe, Little Bit!
