Today was not an unusual day, but every day with bear cubs is interesting.

The pools are still open, and here a cub jumps out with a splash after a dip.

To prepare for releases in the not-too distant future, the curators have opened the Acclimation Pens and added treats to encourage the cubs to enter and eat. The little bears will become comfortable with entering and exiting at will.

Come on in!

Cubs in WE #1 accepted the invitation.

Cubs in WE #2 foraged for acorns and other nuts.

In Acclimation Pen #3, a cub is interested in the tarp. This is not unusual, as we’ve seen many cubs do the same thing.

It wasn’t me!

A squish of cubs in WE #4.

Go on down to forage with the others!

Rags is really good at climbing!

He doesn’t mind wet paws, but his brother doesn’t like that so much.

Curator Jamie cleaned and redecorated.

Food was placed among the leaves and under rocks, to increase the foraging skills of the cubs.

Scruffy explored, while Rags hid in the greenery.

As you can tell, all the cubs are thriving. That makes everyone happy.
