We are happy to report that Colton Bear is continuing to show wild behavior as he forages for his food in the Wild Side enclosure. Our curators report that he avoids them when he senses (hears or smells) them in the area. Of course, because of the blind-covered fencing he cannot see them. They are throwing acorns over the fence for him, and he munches contentedly as he finds the nuts. In addition to learning how to forage for his food, he is learning that acorns are a tasty treat, and he will be eager to find them when he is released. Here is a photo that shows how Colton is avoiding being seen. Can you see him in there?
