Finnegan

Finnegan and Wily Bear

Comments are off

Finnegan Bear, our three-month-old cub is currently spending his time in the Acclimation Pen adjacent to The Cub House.  After his initial, less-than-enthusiastic response to this new, outdoor space, he has settled in and is being a typically curious little bear, exploring the surroundings.

Finnegan

Finnegan enjoys the sunshine and the smells and sounds of the outdoors.

Finnegan is learning to climb on the pen. He stands up in readiness to climb.

Wily Bear is the yearling who arrived just a month ago.  At the age of almost 15 months, Wily only weighed 16 pounds.  He is making great progress and thriving in the Wild Enclosure.  Often in hiding mode, he appeared for these photos.

Wily rests in a tree. How comfortable (for a bear)!

Wily and Finnegan are not destined to meet each other.  The little cub is much too small to be introduced to the yearlings, who will be released back into the wild long before Finnegan is ready for his second chance in the wild.
