The two boys, Bobby and Ham, are larger than Sissy, and are a bit bolder in their exploration of the half-acre enclosure. Black bear males (boars) are generally about 1/3 larger than females (sows). In the wild, a male cub often ventures further away from the family unit while a female cub will remain close to the mother.
