It’s true – with the release of the final three cubs (Special Sauce, Lyles, and Slick) all twenty-five of the cubs are now in Wild Enclosures!
Saucy left Acclimation Pen #3 to join her Gatlinburgher siblings in their enclosure.
She found a pear!
She was nervous, but there are trees to climb to relieve her stress.
She met a cub or cubs (it’s hard to tell). The meeting was peaceful.
The cubs crashed for the night.
Saucy crossed the Tire Bridge to join them, but they didn’t welcome her.
She is a brave little cub. She climbed up near the other cubs.
The other cubs didn’t know what to make of this cub who won’t take “no” for an answer!
As a compromise, she climbed up to sleep in the tree, instead.
Very early in the morning, the cubs slowly went down to breakfast.
Saucy waited until all had left; then she climbed down.
She, too, went down to breakfast. We hope they will soon accept her and be friends – after all, three of them are her siblings!
In Enclosure #3, Lyles exits the Acclimation Pen.
What’s this? He had never seen a tree he couldn’t climb before! He will learn about the Forbidden Trees at ABR.
Slick Bear came out cautiously.
He took a little longer than Lyles to make his way into the enclosure.
Uncertain, the cubs startled each other.
But it took no time for them to start foraging.
The two boys spent the night on the resting platform. There had been no sign of the other occupants of the enclosure – Velma, Daphne, and Scooby.
These two are really hungry! They didn’t take time to wrestle!
Soon all of the cubs in each enclosure will meet and begin the usual shenanigans that are so typical of cubs this age. Stay tuned!
