As usual, there is a lot going on at ABR. Today we present two short “stories” about activities.

In Enclosure #1 –

Scooby noticed some insects crawling around.

Investigating, he ate what he found.

He made a discovery – the grass rolls like a carpet!

At this point, he seems to enjoy rolling the grass, and forgets about the insects. If you recall a few weeks ago, before there were cubs in this enclosure, the curators had laid sod, hoping to green up the place.

He is very good at turf rolling!

Another cub wanders by.

The other cub sits nearby, while Scooby keeps working.

He’s really into this job!

More cubs arrive to see what’s going on.

Now that Scooby did the work. the other opportunistic cubs eat insects.

Meanwhile, in Enclosure #2 –

A cub has entered the fake electric fence around a small sapling.

Oh no! Get down!

Over it goes!

Luckily, another cub distracts the first one, and a wrestling match puts an end (for now) to the sapling murdalization.

And in the Recovery Center –

Yearling Spruce is doing well. He won’t have to return to UTCVM right now.

Spruce is still lanky, but he’s putting on weight.

Here is the latest chart of ABR cubs, showing who is where.

Twenty-six cubs and one yearling! That’s quite a houseful!
