A Hot Day

Our weather has been hot recently with highs in the 90s. If you’re a bear with a black fur coat, you have to find ways to keep as cool as you can. The cubs in Wild Enclosure #2 show us how it’s done at night.

Look at Downy Bear’s nice chubby tummy and legs!
The cubs spread out – not a good time to sleep in a cubby pile.
They move around a lot and change positions through the night.
More moving , but those cubs in the middle may be too close to each other for comfort.
It’s wake-up time.
Down they go to get busy. Their one and only job is to chubbify and they work hard at it.
In their enclosure, Harlan and Sassafras make an appearance.

Harlan has an interesting method of foraging. He’s in full back-sploot mode. A cooler position, no doubt.

All of the cubs are working on their chubbification and, as we have seen in the past, they will succeed very well.
