Cubs will stay close to a tree in case of danger. They are taught by the sow to climb a tree if there is a threat of any kind to them. This is also a natural instint for ABR cubs. Cubs will often stand up on hind legs in tall grass or weeds so they can look around to see where they are and who or what else is in their area.
