Whistler, Canada cannot say when their bear problem got out of hand, but it obviously is. What used to be a lovely mountain town has turned into a sometimes very dangerous place. Whistler says that they have been fighting the implementation of “lethal management” since 1999, but the situation is looking bleak.
This past November, 90 bears tried to break into residents homes and 50 succeeded. In this year alone, conservation officers have had to put down 9 bears and 6 bears have been involved in traffic accidents. Click on the link to read the full article from The New York Times
