All of the cubs at ABR are growing, including the two very underweight cubs rescued most recently. We’ll start with those two cubby brothers in Hartley House. To fatten them up, curators are giving them bear milk replacement formula, shelled peanuts, walnuts. honey, peanut butter, and sliced apples (although they may not eat the fruit).

Scruffy is trying to upend the leaf-filled pool, while Rags has a late night snack.

Scruffy fell asleep. Rags explored the room and dug in the leaves.

Rags is getting brave! He climbed to the top of the climby thing.

Rags looked down at his sleeping brother.

Rags climbed down and left the room. Soon, Scruffy woke up and went to find his brother.

The two cubs slept with Not-A-Polar-Bear.

This morning, Scruffy was up first and ate his breakfast. Rags (red ear tags) followed suit.

Here’s where their food comes from – Curator Jamie throws food over the fence. Their food now includes pears, apples, acorns, chestnuts, and the miscellaneous insects that they find.

When they heard the curator at the next enclosure, these cubs in Enclosure #3 were mildly concerned and got ready to escape if necessary.

The Floating Pear and the Caboose Curvature Arrow take measurements of a couple of cubs. Lookin’ good!

The cubs in Acclimation Pen #4 are trying to dismantle the tarp, open the door, and generally create havoc. They can just go outside to vent their energy!
