Today we show how fat, chonky, plump, chubby – you get the idea – the cubs have become. Whether they were one of the first to arrive (looking at you, Daisy Mae, Duke, Jellybean) or a more recent addition to the class of 2024, all of them have fulfilled their mission, which is to eat and chubbify as much as possible. Just look at the evidence in these pictures!
Look how chubby this cub, surveying Wild Enclosure #1, appears!
The cubs are using the accidental ramp to get to the platform. It’s easier for them to climb up than it is to slide down.
In Enclosure #2, the cubs sleep in a straight line.
At dawn, the line disintegrates as the cubs wake up and move around.
Down they go in an orderly line to get their breakfast.
Wild Enclosure #2 is surveyed by another chonky cub.
All together now – the eight cubs in Enclosure #3 forage together in the same photo!
A few of the cubs in Enclosure #4 are inside the Acclimation Pen. The rest are outside.
Puff seems to think the tub needs adjusting.
She wrestles it into the place she wants it to be.
Shadow takes over. Note how chubby his caboose is!
It is a fact that black bears carry much of their weight in their hind quarters. We can see that in Shadow and other chubby cubs. How much more will they chubbify before release? Watch this space!
