On November 8th, a TWRA officer brought in this little female cub. She was found in Townsend, where ABR is located. While some of the cubs we have been caring for over the past 6-8 months are fat and healthy, at weights of 80+ pounds, this little girl weighs only 17.5 pounds. This weight would be typical for about a 4-month-old cub, not one that is 9 months old! Though some folks will ask if she isn’t younger than the other, larger cubs, the answer is “no” because you may recall that all bear cubs are born in late January. So all of our cubs, from this little one to the largest cub in the wild enclosure, are the same age!
