When Bennie and Jerry arrived at Appalachian Bear Rescue, we mentioned that the South Carolina Wildlife Officers had sent the third cub, a female, to a captive facility. Today that little cub is joining her brothers at ABR! We are most appreciative of the excellent care she received while at Charles Town Landing, in South Carolina. Carrie, as she will be called, is healthy and weighs even more than Bennie and Jerry! We will watch with interest as she is reintroduced to her brothers. Wonder how they will react to each other, after being apart for almost a month? Time will tell, but we are sure the “Three Little Bears” will enjoy each other’s company.
Now that Bennie and Jerry moved into the larger carrier, they may feel crowded again, with a third cub in the space, so in the next few days the three of them will move into the much larger cage, still within the Nursery, where they will have additional space to move about and play.
Here is the first photo of Carrie, as she was transported to ABR.
