It rained today, but luckily the curators did their work in Enclosure 4 before the rain.
The rain and warm weather is good for some critters, like this Eastern Narrow-mouthed toad, who burrows in the soil. The curators found one, much to their surprise. It is said to sound like a bleating sheep.
They are seldom seen, we’ve been told. Interesting little fellow!
Curator Katrina cuts cypress boards for new platform.
Curator Jamie loads them into a wheelbarrow.
He delivers one load at a time to Enclosure #4.
Greg does some trimming of the boards.
The boards are laid in place.
Seth screws the planks down.
Jamie screws some down, also. There was work for everyone.
