Update on 5 Cubs

Comments are off

ABR is now caring for five cubs, all of them five-months-old. The newest arrivals, Lemon Drop and her brother Cosmo, are spending a few days in the Hartley House. They are not happy to be there (can’t blame them, since they were born in the wild and spent their first five months there with their mom). But they are eating well and they probably won’t have to be there for very long before being released into a Wild Enclosure, which will seem much more natural to them.

Curator Tom cleans the room in the Hartley House.
Here comes a cautious Lemon Drop.
She has very distinctive and unusual face coloring.
At 26 pounds each, we think the siblings are a bit heavier than the trio of cubs in W.E. #3.
They are eating well, and exploring unfamiliar foods.
It won’t be long until they are outside. The curators haven’t decided whether to introduce them to the boys or give them their own enclosure.
The cub trio was up late after spending a rainy day in the trees.
Any time is a good time to wrestle, if you’re a cub!
Oops! Over the side he goes!
Who, me? I didn’t do anything!
Barley leaps into the Firehose Hammock, where Bourbon had fallen.
Two cubs in the hammock. Now what?
The cubs climb back out.
Up the tree they go to sleep.

In the morning, they gathered at the Cubby Pool.
Hops takes a bath. Maybe he will get used to the water and find that he likes to swim!

No telling what theses cubs will do next. Be sure to come back and see.
