Dell – the 19th yearling cub of 2012

Comments are off

ABR admitted the 19th yearling cub of 2012 on March 20.

Dell is a little male weighing in at a mere 10 pounds at the age of 14 months!  So tiny, but he seems to be quite healthy, considering his small size.

He is enthusiastically consuming Pedialyte which he needs to overcome the dehydration common in these underweight little bears.  He has also shown an immediate interest in blackberries.  After snacking on these delicious treats he went to sleep.  Photos will be posted as they become available.

Although we’ve mentioned this before, now that we have 35 bears on site, we really need help in caring for and feeding them.

The littlest ones, like Dell and Tiny, will continue to receive yogurt and Pedialyte, and will soon need the soft fruits like blackberries.  Larger yearlings will continue to eat firmer fruits (apples and pears) as well as nuts.

You can help us by visiting the Townsend Village Market IGA website and ordering a gift certificate for these lifesaving items.

Once again, we thank you for caring!  We couldn’t help these orphaned bears without the help of our many friends.

THANK YOU!!
