Three Little Cubs Together!

Comments are off

In our last post we told you that Cub 204, Marvin Bear, would be joining the other two cubs in the Acclimation Pen very soon.  Sure enough, Marvin left the Cub Nursery after the curators decided he was ready to meet Bonnie Blue and Ridgeway.  Here we can see how the introduction went.

Before Marvin got there, the two siblings were just hanging out.

Ridgeway

Ridgeway, seen through long lens.

We can see that Ridgeway’s ears bear the marks of his sister sucking on them.  Reminds us of a well-loved toy bear that has been sucked on by a small child.

There is plenty of room for another cub in this big pen!

We can’t help but wonder what went through their minds, seeing another cub in the pen.

Marvin Bear

Marvin Bear climbed up the structure, too.

Marvin Bear looks a little bit intimidated by the other two cubs.  Indeed, it took a bit of huffing and bluff charging before things calmed down.  It will take a few days for the three of them to become comfortable with each other, but fortunately, young cubs readily accept other, unrelated cubs so they will undoubtedly be good friends before long.
