Appalachian Bear Rescue has posted a YouTube video of the cubs getting their first taste of “solid” food. It is quite amusing to see how they approach this new experience. In the wild, mother bears begin to introduce their cubs to new foods as they become available, and the cubs will taste them, often spitting the unfamiliar food out. As time goes on, however, the cubs learn to eat everything that their mother eats. ABR has to accelerate the process a bit, and as you will see, our cubs are tasting new foods already.
