Blossom Bear, her sister Buttercup Bear, and Poppy Bear share the second Wild Enclosure.  We call them the “Flower Girls” because of their names.  Actually, they are ABR cubs #194, 195, and 196.  The wildlife officers and our curators use the numbers, but the rest of us like to use the names they have been given.  Blossom and Buttercup spent the longest time with their mother, more than any of our other rescued cubs.  Because of that, they are usually all but invisible to the curators, as they spend most of their time in the trees or hidden away in the underbrush.  They are teaching Poppy Bear good lessons in wild behavior, also.  But a few days ago, Curator Coy was able to capture these photos of the 3 cubs on the ground, enjoying some of the food he had thrown over the fence to them.  Here are some rare photos of the threesome.

You probably noticed that Poppy Bear is larger than Blossom and Buttercup.  If you recall, The sisters were very small when they arrived at ABR.  Poppy was already a chubby cubby.  She just needed to learn about proper wild behavior and natural foods.  The two sisters are good teachers.  Poppy is becoming much more wild, according to the curators.  Wild behavior is what we (and the wildlife officers) are looking for.
