Raven and Chickadee

Today, the two sisters ventured out of the Acclimation Pen . . . gradually. In fact, they took a little nap before going out through the open door.

The sisters were up on the platform.
The cubs decided to take a little nap before leaving.
Raven was first to step through the door.
Raven is out! She steps down on the ground.
Raven is all the way out. We can see her sister still inside the pen.
Chickadee Bear steps out and sees her sister is under the Acclimation Pen.
Sniff sniff – Chickadee uses her nose to collect information about her surroundings.
Now Chickadee is out – but where is Raven?
Chickadee looks for Raven.
Both of the cubs go under the Acclimation Pen.
Both cubs stand up to see out over the tall weeds.
The sisters go out into the enclosure to explore. Flicker Bear comes to check them out.
They carefully and cautiously check each other over.
Introductions are made.
Raven and Chickadee aren’t too sure about this other little bear.
Flicker goes back to where he came from. Raven and Chickadee continue to explore.
The two cubs come upon the Cubby Pool. It’s big!
Raven and Chickadee look very small. They have been turning over water dishes, do they want to turn over this big one? We don’t think they can do that.

We saw the first contact between Flicker, from one family, and Raven and Chickadee, from the other family. As we have seen in the past, it won’t take long for them to become one big, happy family in their Wild Enclosure. Stay tuned.
