A group of ABR volunteers went to pick pears for the cubs, and Curator Coy has stored them in the Cubby Cooler, a refrigerated building at the facility.  He took the opportunity to throw pears over the fence to the three cubs.

The cubs (all three of them) were in the same tree, with Finn once again being highest in the tree.  They heard the pears drop when they were thrown, and here is what happened.

Finn looked down when he heard the pears drop., but he didn’t move.

Eliza didn’t leave her branch in the tree, either.

Andy Bear woke up from his nap in the tree when he heard the pears drop.

He decided to climb down and have a pear.

Finn watched Andy climb down.

Down on the ground, Andy followed his nose to find the pears.

Andy took his pear into the shade to eat it.

Curator Coy was sure that Finnegan and Eliza Bear would descend to get pears later in the day, when it cooled off.  Bears are crepuscular, which means they are most active at dusk and dawn.  It’s good that the three cubs are behaving and eating as bears should.
