New Video – Three Cubs Foraging

Comments are off

We reported about the way the curators are trying to encourage interaction between the cubs by throwing food in one area only, forcing them to forage near to one another.  Today we have a video that proves the scheme is working.  We see the two males – Andy and Finnegan – foraging in the undergrowth (you have to look hard to see them in the shadows).  Bear cubs are easily startled, and a noise startles them; they make a hasty departure.  Upon learning that the noise was just the third cub, Eliza, the two boys return to forage and continue eating.  The curators see this as a positive sign.  Maybe we’ll eventually see them interact and play together.  Incidentally, listen for the sound of one of those pesky crows cawing early in the video.  Click here to enjoy this newest video of the cubs.
