We came across this article about the two new cubs at the National Zoo in Washington, DC.  The cubs were born in January, and are going to be on display for public viewing as of May 22nd.  The zoo is asking for name suggestions for the male and female.  Spectacled bears (also called Andean bears) are the only bear species that is found south of the equator, in the Andes mountains of South America.  The article includes a very cute picture of one of the 3 1/2-month-old cubs.
