In the Loft

Beignet and Boudreaux, the Louisiana cubs who are wintering at ABR, often choose to sleep in the loft (the platform in the Acclimation Pen). In our last post we told about all three cubs sharing Jessamine’s daybed. This time we’ll show another scenario, when the brother and sister slept in the loft.

Beignet went to the loft first.
She tidied up the bed by raking the straw.
Boudreaux joined her.
They settled down and went to sleep at 6:30.
At 8:00 the next morning, Beignet was the second one to rise and shine after a nice long sleep.

We continue to learn volumes about bears from the observation of our cubs and their reaction to different situations. It’s fascinating!
