Hops Bear Update

Hops Bear is continuing to do well in The Cub Nursery. He pummels his stuffie bears and puts them through a lot. He is also gaining weight – he weighed 4 pounds on April 20th, and weighed 4.8 pounds just four days later. He is becoming more active and rambunctious, too.

Hops wrestles with his stuffies, and sits atop their “mosh pit.”
Hops checks out his weaning bowl often, dips his paw into it, walks through it, may take a lap, but isn’t really eating from it yet.
The curators have looked into his possible age, and based on research they have decided that he may be younger than previously thought. Current estimate is that he is 2.5 months, rather than 3 months. This may explain why he’s not lapping yet.
He is developing strength and stability, however. He stands up well now.

We will keep watching him and looking forward to the day when he will actually start to feed himself by lapping his formula from the bowl. That will be a big milestone!
