This continues the story about our latest arrival, little HoneyBunny Bear, who was rescued on April 3rd in Fentress County.

HoneyBunny at UTCVM. She weighs just over 9 pounds, which is about one-fifth of what she should weigh at the age of 14 months.

She had many ticks, and they were removed one at a time.

An X-ray was taken to check for broken bones. Fortunately, there were no broken bones!

This is the X-ray image.

Curator Reagan signed the transfer paperwork.

HoneyBunny was ready to travel to ABR.

She is in The Cub House where she ate a small meal. We think it was the first decent food she has had in quite a while.

She slept for a long time, and then woke up to have a drink.

Honey Bunny took a chomp of her NAPB. She has never seen one of these critters before! Little does she know it will become her friend and companion.

As usual, the curators will have to give this needy little bear food in small, measured amounts, to avoid overloading her system. We hope that she will recover from her malnourished state.
