We have been saying that the yearling bears would be released soon. On August 3rd, Dani Bear (#262) left ABR for the wild life she was meant to live. We look back at her time at the ABR facility. In our next post we will show her workup for the release.

Here is where Dani Bear was found – by a creek in a campground.
When examined at the UT Veterinary College, she was underweight at 24.2 pounds, weak, dehydrated and infested with ticks.

She spent a few days in an Acclimation Pen at ABR.

As soon as she was released into the Wild Enclosure, she climbed a tree.

After a week, she was looking better.

She spent a lot of time in the trees. Here she is on June 16.

Dani was a very photogenic bear.

In our next post, we will show how she was tempted into the Acclimation Pen, and what took place during her workup. She is now running free, as she was meant to do.
