Apollo Bear met one of the other cubs face to face in the Wild Enclosure. Can you guess which cub it was? It was Rollo! They had an exchange of ideas (we think, although even our knowledgeable curators don’t speak bear) and it was captured in these photos.

The two cubs climbed up and over each other as they went higher.
Rollo looked down at Apollo.
Rollo was above and Apollo was below.
Rollo found a secure place in the fork of the tree.
There was some huffing and blowing, and “words” were exchanged.
It was a stand-off. Rollo couldn’t go down and Apollo couldn’t go higher.
Apollo decided to go back down.
Otto Bear, in Summitt’s tree, relaxed on the favorite branch.
Otto took a nap while the other two cubs were sorting out their relationship.
And so went the first meeting between Apollo and the resident cubs, in this case, Rollo. We’ll see what happens when Otto joins the other two. Should be interesting!
