The curators removed all of the fire hose enrichment items, like hammocks,etc. when they started their work on the Wild Enclosures. But the plan was to replace them with new ones. In order to improve the quality of the enrichment items, our friends at Zoo Knoxville sent one of their expert enrichment builders to instruct the ABR team in building fire hose items that can be easily taken down and cleaned.There will be more on this tomorrow,

Spring is here, and the facility is “springing” to life, as seen in the scene of a visitor squirrel performing antics as he nibbles on new growth.

As for baby goats, Curators Greg and Katrina report that their baby goats are coming along very well. They have met their guardian, a furry Great Pyrenees (mistakenly identified as a Newfoundland in the video) named Maverick, He has always thought he was one of the goats, and now that Orion is solid white, Maverick is sure he is one of them!
