All three of the cubs currently residing at ABR are eating more and more, due to hyperphagia, the annual feeding frenzy for bears in late summer to early fall. Whether they are aware of the reason for their increased appetites or not (probably not) their bodies are telling them to increase their food intake. They happily oblige.

Otto and Rollo Bear are finding food.

Otto’s nose is to the ground; Rollo is chomping something tasty.

Lots of yummy things to find here.

Otto in back, Rollo in front – Rollo is a good model of a cub.
Rollo is such a good model, that we can show the annotated cub, using this photo.

Rollo – the annotated cub.

These two cubs are growing up as well as around.
Let’s not forget our third cub, Apollo. Although he is still residing in the Red Roof Recovery Center, he is also feeling the effects of hyperphagia.

Apollo gets a big bowl of food and manages to eat everything.
The curators are very pleased with the progress of all three of the cubs.
