Busy Day in Hartley House

Every day is busy when you have three active bear cubs together! Our three cubs – Hops, Barley, and Bourbon Bear, are nonstop active from before dawn until . . . whenever they collapse in exhaustion. The curators are busy, too!

The three cubs were up early – before dawn – playing on their climbing thingy.
When they wrestle, we get a blurry picture, but can see they’re in motion.
They thoroughly explore every corner of their two rooms in Hartley House.
Climbing is a favorite activity.
What a messy room! Bear cubs are not good at housekeeping.
Curator Coy was on cleanup duty, and he closed the gate to room 2 while he worked.
The camera records Coy at work, giving us a perspective on the size of the room and its furnishings.
Another curator duty – mopping the floor. What room service for the cubs!
Coy brings in the fresh food in clean bowls.
Next come the water bowls.
Everything is neat and clean – and here come the cubs! How long will it stay neat and clean?
Hops. Barley, and Bourbon plan their next move.
They check to make sure everything is still as it was. The climby thing is still there, that’s good!
Time to eat – and surprise! -they aren’t crowded around one bowl!

The cubs and Curator Coy all had a busy day, and that was just half the day! Much of the activity was repeated in the afternoon. It’s a good thing we have several curators to share the work.
