Boudreaux and Beignet (The Ragin Cajuns)

Comments are off

The twin cubs from Louisiana, nicknamed Boudreaux and Beignet, were rescued from a flooded den and airlifted to ABR on March 1st. At just 6 weeks old they were very tiny: Boudreaux weighed a little over 2 pounds and his sister weighed just over 1 pound. Now, after spending half of their lives at ABR, the little cubs have grown and become, as the curators jokingly call them, the “Ragin Cajuns” You can see why that label fits, as you watch their antics in today’s photos.

The scene opens as Curator David has cleaned Room 1 in the Cub House, and opened the gate so the cubs can have their breakfast.

Breakfast is ready for Beignet and Boudreaux.

The two cubs come in to eat their breakfast. So far, so good.

A mess is started by the paw in the porridge.

Having taken the edge off their appetites, the cubs look into Room 2, which David has been cleaning.

Uh-oh! Trouble is brewing.

Food fight! Bear cubs don’t have rules for their play.

They finally settle down to eat.

What next? Have they made a big enough mess for Curator David to clean up?

It’s easy to see why curators must have the patience of saints to put up with all of the cubby shenanigans!
