The weather is nice, and the bears are doing well. Here are the latest newsworthy items.

Lovey is progressing nicely. His leg is strong, and his fur is growing back!

To show how strong that leg is, he stood up to get a better look or sniff of something that must have caught his attention. He was able to stand with good balance!

He saw pool peanuts, and wanted to get some.

But he didn’t want to get wet in the pool.

He anchored himself with a back foot on the pool’s edge.

Good maneuver, Lovey! Worthy of an Olympic event!

He’s almost able to reach the peanuts…..

Then, sploosh! Lovey took an unexpected dive.

He was able to pull himself out of the pool (with the help of his healed leg).

OK, Lovey – you’re out! Good bear! Hope you got some peanuts after all that!

HRH Rover is thriving in his own enclosure. He is starting to chubbify!

In addition to the curator-provided food, Rover finds some tasty insects.

Townie forages at dusk.

HoneyBunny waits until after dark to come down and forage. Their system for sharing the enclosure seems to work for them.

Thumper is a rambunctious cub. He plays hard and then sleeps to recharge.

Curators Bailey and Reagan made “Cubcakes” for the Cubby Birthday (a frozen mixture of bear milk replacement formula with berry flavored Greek yogurt). Thumper seemed to enjoy the treat, but in The Cub Nursery, Flapjack wasn’t impressed with his. Maybe it’s an acquired taste.
