ABR admitted #371, a female yearling nicknamed Honey Bunny for the place she was found and the closeness to Easter. The tiny, very much underweight (9.9 pounds) and malnourished yearling was found in the shed of a woman in Fentress County, TN.The woman lived near Honey Creek.

The Black Bear Support Biologist for TWRA picked up the little bear and met Curator Reagan and ABR Exec. Director Dana Dodd at the UT College of Veterinary Medicine, where Honey Bunny was examined. She was X-rayed, treated for anemia and given fluids to hydrate her. It appeared that the most serious problem was her malnutrition, which had been ongoing. It was after midnight when they returned to ABR and Honey Bunny was able to move into The Cub House. She had a small snack and went to sleep.

Another malnourished yearling arrived at ABR. Say hello to Honey Bunny Bear.
